  1. RedactPro Documents screen: three PDFs from a matter folder, four profiles named by rule with HIPAA Safe Harbor chosen, one extra term to redact everywhere, and the line Nothing leaves this computer.
    01 / 04

Pick the rule you are filing under.

Drop in a folder of PDFs or Word files and choose a profile. Add any name that must go wherever it appears, in every document.

  2. RedactPro Review screen: an engagement letter with every identifier marked, a date of birth selected with the note Box will read 1975, and a side panel grouping 31 items by severity.
    02 / 04

    Everything found. You decide.

Every number, name, address and date is marked and grouped by how sensitive it is. Click one to see exactly what its box will say, or keep it as written.

  3. RedactPro confirm sheet: 31 regions will be permanently removed, the reviewer's name, and a choice between a plain black box and a labelled box.
    03 / 04

Burned into the page, not drawn over it.

The pixels are replaced and the text and metadata under each box are removed. If RedactPro cannot confirm a value is gone, it refuses to save the file.

  4. RedactPro Done screen: the redacted page with labelled black boxes, the batch results, and a certificate with both file hashes, the reviewer and what was done to each kind of value.
    04 / 04

A signed certificate for every file.

The hash of the original and of the redacted file, the profile, the reviewer, and what was done to each kind of value. The full list exports as CSV or JSON.

Profiles

Named after the rule.

Each profile follows the published text of its rule: what is removed, what keeps its last four digits, what becomes a year.

01

FRCP 5.2 Federal Filing

Social Security, tax ID and account numbers keep their last four digits. Birth dates become the year. A minor's name becomes initials.

Fed. R. Civ. P. 5.2(a)
02

HIPAA Safe Harbor

Names, contact details and ID numbers removed. Dates become the year and addresses the state. Photos still need a human check.

45 CFR 164.514(b)(2)
03

US Tax Court Filing

Taxpayer ID numbers removed in full. Account numbers keep their last four digits. Birth dates become the year.

Tax Court Rule 27(a)
04

Terms only

Nothing is found automatically. Only the words and names you list are removed, everywhere they appear.

Your own list

RedactPro marks what it finds. A person reviews every document before anything is burned, and that person's name goes on the certificate.

Privacy

Nothing leaves this computer.

Most redaction tools ask you to upload the very documents you are trying to protect. RedactPro does the whole job on the machine in front of you.

  1. 01No uploadFiles are read and written on your own disk. There is no server to send them to.
  2. 02No cloud AIDetection runs locally with open-source rules and a language library, and gives the same answer every time.
  3. 03No accountThe app installs and runs without signing in to anything.
  4. 04One small exceptionPaid plans will check a licence key: the key and a computer ID, never a document.
Public beta

Free while it is in beta.

No document limit and no card during the beta. After it, a free plan stays: 10 documents a month. Pro is $15 a month, Firm $35 for five computers.
